I drove to a local track yesterday to do my track workout and there was a stupid girl's lacrosse game going on, so the track was off limits. Well that really put me out of the mood to run. I drove to a local park and warmed up for a while. Since I wasn't in the mood to run at all and I was really upset that I couldn't run on the track, I modified my workout big time. Here's what I did. 2:30 HARD, 2:30 shag. Then I repeated and upped the interval each time to 3:00, 3:30, and then finished with 4:00. The last 4:00 I really pushed it hard and I think I ran about a mile. Then I drove home.
Oh, it turns out they didn't finish the screening in time so I can't participate in that study after all. That kind of sucks for me because I wanted the compensation money. But on the upside, they don't need all 9 vials of blood anymore, so I asked for my blood back. It's sitting in my freezer right now, and I think I'll inject it just before the marathon in June. That should take care of my side ache problem, and I think it will help me qualify for Boston. Saturday I'm going to run nice and slow for a LONG time taking walk breaks as needed to preserve my precious legs.

That's called blood doping and it is illegal.
I actually have considered putting blood in. They would never check an amateur athlete!!
Yeah, well too bad cause I don't really have the blood. That would be kind of weird if I actually had vials of blood sitting in my freezer next to my frozen chicken breasts.
